Nail in the small town coffin?

Spent the weekend in Seattle with family. The nieces are growing like weeds, and there are personnel shifts all around. It was great to spend time with everyone.

One problem with running up there is eating. We snuck away for a snack. A transformative snack. An educational snack (Tako is NOT chewy! And Americans throw away 2/3 of the scallop). And our final round? Unagi. Amazing unagi. Unagi such that we've never had before. In chatting with the chef, it came out that the unagi sauce in the bottle is a travesty. Unagi sauce should spend a week on the stove. The secrets of the unagi sauce must not be discussed. Unagi sauce, much like sausages and laws, should not be watched while being made--it might be disturbing.

But because we are from out of town, and perhaps because we showed signs of rapture, unagi sauce was brought home.

Rumor has it that there are two mysterious dark brown sauces in your fridge right now. Will either or both be applied to new food items before you leave for China?
