One of my favorite authors wrote a magazine article describing the tech-tools he uses in everyday life. Oddly, he uses a phone email client I switched to just last week (to troubleshoot a specific problem with Yahoo’s email server–which my library uses behind the scenes.
Two highlights worth pointing out: he writes with a plain text editor, and when he writes posts to his blogs, he writes his html using the computer equivalent of longhand: he types out all the tags. I can’t say that I do either of those, but when editing web pages, I still to alot of hand editing of code.
This is an interesting look into the work process of a self-employed, highly traveled geek. I’ll be revisiting the article this week to try a couple of his tips.
